Influences

We are all affecting the world every moment, whether we mean to or not.

Our actions and states of mind matter, because we are so deeply

interconnected with one another. ~Ram Dass

A Gaelic blessing

Deep Peace

Deep peace of the running wave to you

Deep peace of the flowing air to you

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you

Deep peace of the shining stars to you

Deep peace of the gentle night to you,

Moon and stars pour their healing light on you

Deep peace to you

A right to

righteousness. The rules of decorum and politeness are some of the parts that contribute to a society's 'personality'.

We can marvel at what was, what is, what should be--the true wonder is, where is the compassion? At what point do we start to believe that it's okay to yield a right of way, to greet those in a room when one enters, to acknowledge and show a small kindness? A smile or hello can be a show of politeness without compromising ourselves, our 'realness'.

Yet, it seems to be viewed as such by many. Almost as if compassion clothed as consideration is a weak approach when it is actually to the contrary. It would be good to do better. Instead of placing this in the hypothetical, let's reword that.

It is good to do better.

In the world around us,

'It is of interest to note that while some dolphins are reported to have learned English - up to fifty words used in correct context - no human being has been reported to have learned dolphinese.'  ~Dr. Carl Sagan

Intimacy

is misunderstood. The word brings an automatic image of a couple (whatever genders) in sexual embrace. This is not correct and an outcropping of limited media.

Intimacy is not physical. Intimacy is all mental: we are intimate when we share a moment of pure joy, of pain or of compassion.

Intimacy is the action of sharing your innermost you.

Hope

for our future in lyric. A daily few minutes appreciating the good in the world can do wonders...

Crystal Blue Persuasion

Look over yonder
What do you see?
The sun is a'rising
Most definitely

A new day is coming, oooh, oooh
People are changing
Ain't it beautiful, oooh, oooh
Crystal blue persuasion

Better get ready
To see the light
Love, love is the answer, oooh oooh
And that's all right

So don't you give up now, oooh oooh
So easy to find
Just look to your soul
And open your mind

Crystal blue persuasion, mmm, mmm
It's a new vibration
Crystal blue persuasion
Crystal blue persuasion

Maybe tomorrow
When he looks down
On every green field, oooh oooh
And every town

All of his children
And every nation
They'll be peace and good brotherhood
Crystal blue persuasion, yeah, yeah

Crystal blue persuasion, aahaa
Crystal blue persuasion, aahaa
Crystal blue persuasion, aahaa

On this

Independence Day, it is good to remind ourselves of some foundations: religious liberty, freedom to speak, freedom to pursue our individual happiness. On this Independence Day, let's make a commitment to ensure that our freedoms encompass all.

The Five Tibetan Rites
